Ted Nugent Attends the State of the Union Address: Comedians React on Twitter

The news that rock star and noted President Obama critic Ted Nugent was in attendance at tonight’s State of the Union address (Feb. 12) has prompted a barrage of jokes from comedians on Twitter.
The legendary guitarist and noted hunter disagrees strongly with the President’s proposals on gun control, among other things. His “I will either be dead or in jail” comments regarding Obama’s potential re-election prompted a visit from the Secret Service last year.
The reactions, from comedians of varying levels of popularity and a somewhat diverse range of political viewpoints, ran the gamut from angry, pointed criticisms to humorous comments about the absurdity of it all. As for us, we’re mostly interested in when Uncle Ted’s next tour starts, but here you go:
If Republicans had any balls they’d let Nugent give their response.

Obama comes to the podium for the State of the Union speech. Lifts his ax & plays an 80min version of Stranglehold that even the NUGE loves.

Imagine if a rapper had 1. Threatened the President 2. Brandished assault rifles 3. Got invited to the SOTU 4. Showed up in jeans. #Nugent

“..and yes, Nuge, Cat Scratch Fever is covered under Obamacare” #SOTU

I’m still waiting for “Welcome to the Jungle” to cut Obama off and the Nuge to come swinging down from the balcany in a Tarzan leotard.

For Obama’s sake, I hope security made The Nuge check his crossbow at the door. #SOTU

I hope Obama advocates preventing old draft dodgers from fucking underage girls so Ted Nugent lunges at him & gets shot. #SOTU

Nugent will be at tomorrow’s State of the Union. What if Obama’s entire speech is a track-by-track skewering of “Intensities in Ten Cities.”
— Jon Wurster (@jonwurster) February 12, 2013
Joe Biden sneaking over to Ted Nugent to get him to sign his Stratocaster.

BREAKING: Ted Nugent ran out of the #SOTU when someone mentioned there was a DRAFT in the room. #p2

For a conspiracy theorist, Ted Nugent doesn’t seem at all concerned that his State of the Union invite is a trap.
— Indecision (@indecision) February 11, 2013
I hope it gets quiet during the State of the Union address and we just hear Ted Nugent spitting into a cup.
— Steven Amiri (@StevenAmiri) February 13, 2013
The Republican response to the State of the Union is just seven minutes of Ted Nugent firing an AK-47 into a buffalo carcass. #SOTU
