There's good news to share about Ted Nugent's dog Happy, who was reportedly injured in a fight with a wild boar. The poor pooch suffered a collapsed lung, and was near death, before doctors from the veterinary hospital at Texas A&M were able to stablize things.

Happy has been discharged, Nugent's wife Shemane confirmed earlier today. "Thanks to the amazing doctors at Texas A&M Veterinary Hospital, our dog Happy is coming home today! ... One week ago today, Happy was dying from a puncture to his chest, most likely caused by a wild boar. We are grateful to have had our baby in the hands of such caring and skilled professionals."

As recently as yesterday, Nugent's wife was reporting that the couple had "spent about an hour with him walking around the courtyard at Texas A&M veterinary hospital," and were relieved that Happy was even wagging his tail and barking.

Happy is still looking at a lengthy recuperation period, Shemane added. "It will be a few weeks before he can run again," she said, "but it looks like he'll make a full recovery."
