The notion may seem a tad overdramatic in retrospect, but, in late March 1979, when Canadian hard rockers Triumph unleashed Just a Game – their second or third album, depending on which side of the 49th Parallel you were standing in – their career longevity was anything but certain.
In November 1984, Triumph released their seventh album, the aptly named ‘Thunder Seven,’ during what turned out to be a pivotal time in the Canadian power trio’s career.
It couldn't have been easy being Triumph. The virtuosic Canadian hard rock power trio spent their entire career in the shadow of virtuosic Canadian hard rock power trio Rush. They broke up in 1993, but reunited on June 7, 2008. That historic concert will be released as a CD / DVD set, called 'Live at Sweden Rock Festival' on Aug. 28.
