The Moody Blues have been nothing if not adaptable, starting out as a rough-housing R&B band, evolving through celebrated early experiments with orchestral rock and then morphing into polished 1980s hitmakers.
The Moody Blues have announced the dates for their 2013 U.S. tour, which starts in late September and runs through the beginning of November. The veteran band will play nearly 30 dates during the two-month road trip.
Moody Blues fans can witness the band in their turn-of-the-70s proto-prog glory, and then explore the way many of those same songs have stood the test of time, across the span of two new concert releases -- one from the Isle of Wight in 1970, and the other from Montreux in 1991.
A sprawling new reissue set promises the most comprehensive look ever into the musical history of the Moody Blues, with outtakes, new mixes, full concerts and a 120-page booklet to go with all the seminal prog rock band's best-loved recordings.
