Faces

The Faces were formed in England out of the remains of the Small Faces when Jeff Beck Group singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ronnie Wood joined bassist Ronnie Lane, keyboardist Ian McLagan and drummer Kenney Jones. They didn't last long, but the handful of albums they made have been an influence on bands looking for a little bluesy, boozy sway to go with their Stones-like crunch. Hopes for a reunion over the years were dimmed after the deaths of Lane (in 1997) and McLagan (in 2014). In addition to playing on their own records, like the classic 'A Nod Is as Good as a Wink ... to a Blind Horse,' the band backed Stewart on his hit LP 'Every Picture Tells a Story.'
