Aerosmith fans who wind up in the movie theaters this May to check out the new 3D flick ‘Epic’ are in for a little surprise. One of the film's star characters, the old wise caterpillar of the forest named Nim Galuu, is voiced by none other than frontman Steven Tyler. While Tyler is often referred to as one heck of an animated performer, this brings a whole new meaning to the word.
Van Halen finally returned to the stage over the weekend (April 20) at the Stone Music Festival in Sydney, Australia and look who showed up for the festivities – Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Okay, in all fairness, Aerosmith was on the bill as well, but it still made for some great photo ops behind the scenes.
For his fourth studio album in the past 15 years, Julian Lennon has enlisted the talent of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler to help him launch his first single, 'Someday'. While the pairing might surprise some, perhaps Tyler felt the need to repay the favor to Lennon after the latter contributed to Aerosmith's most recent studio album, 'Music From Another Dimension!'
Aerosmith made a lot of fans happy when they ended a long hiatus by going back into the studio to make last year's 'Music From Another Dimension!' album, but now that he's been back in the saddle with his bandmates, it sounds like Steven Tyler is missing his former 'American Idol' coworkers.
After 40 years with Aerosmith, Steven Tyler takes the long view on the group's well-documented ups and downs. He's comfortable with what the band have achieved in their career together. But that doesn't mean the unfavorable comparisons to Mick Jagger from early in his career don't still sting.
