Peter Frampton

Peter Frampton got his start playing guitar with the British band the Herd when he was just 16. By the time he was 19, he had formed Humble Pie. By the early '70s he moved on to another project -- Frampton's Camel -- before launching a solo career in 1974. Two years later, his landmark 'Frampton Comes Alive!' album made him one of the planet's biggest stars. The album topped the chart for 10 weeks and spawned three Top 20 singles. In 1978 Frampton was in a car crash that nearly ended his life and temporarily sidelined his career. The same year, he played Billy Shears in the movie 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.' While he's hit the Top 10 only one other time since 'Frampton Comes Alive' (with 1977's follow-up, 'I'm in You'), Frampton continues to release records and tour.
