Gregg Allman

Gregg Allman was born in Nashville but raised in Daytona Beach. With his guitar-playing brother Duane, organist and singer Gregg formed the Allman Brothers Band after stints in the groups the Allman Joys and Hour Glass. After Duane died in a motorcycle accident in 1971, Gregg continued the band until he disbanded it after a series of farewell shows in 2014. Since 1973, Allman has also released solo albums, including a few with the Gregg Allman Band. While he's also known for his multiple marriages over the years (including one to Cher in the mid-'70s), his authentic bluesy growl has kept the focus on music. He continues to record and tour as a solo artist.
