Even though the film hasn't even started filming yet, a teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Hateful Eight’ has been popping up in theaters everywhere this past week, tagged onto screenings of ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.‘ As soon as the trailer rolls in, the unmistakable sounds of Iggy and the Stooges' evil, brooding 'Gimme Danger' can be heard.

But the version heard in the trailer is not a straight playback from the band's classic 1972 'Raw Power' album. It's been toyed with in the studio, with extra sound effects and more drama added to the mix by dropping out the rhythm at certain points. It's obviously too soon to tell if this new remix will end up on a soundtrack somewhere down the road, since, you know, the movie hasn't even been made yet.

If nothing else, the fact that Tarantino chose this great song to highlight his new epic (to be shot in “Glorious 70mm [Super CinemaScope],“ by the way) shows the lasting influence of Iggy & the Stooges more than 40 years later. You can watch the teaser trailer above.

'Raw Power' has not only held up over the decades, it's gained notoriety along the way, influencing a generation of punks -- especially in England, where a tour to promote the album has become legendary. Songs like 'Search and Destroy' have remained as viable as ever, still sounding more brutal and commanding than anything out there today.
