After months of speculation, Steven Tyler and fiancee Erin Brady have broken up after a six-year relationship and a year-long engagement. The news was reported by the New York Post on Sunday (Jan. 13), who heard it from an unnamed source.

Questions were raised when it was noticed that Brady did not accompany the Aerosmith singer on his family vacation to Hawaii over the holidays. Tyler had proposed to Brady in Hawaii the previous Christmas, which made her absence all the more conspicuous.

“Steven was just not that nice to her in the end,” The source, who appears to be in Brady’s camp, told the Post’s Page Six gossip column, “His family and entourage never really accepted her and she can do better.”

Back in October there were rumors of a split, with Tyler’s desire to stay sober cited as a reason for their break up. But the Aerosmith singer, via statement, said that the reports were “false and misleading,’ while acknowledging that there were problems with their relationship.

The source also said that, although they are no longer romantically involved, the couple remain friends. There has been no official statement from either Tyler or the band.
