Steven Tyler Sings With 10-Year-Old Cancer Patient
A shout-out on 'American Idol' would have been plenty to lift the spirits of 10-year-old cancer patient Cole Grace, but while hospitalized earlier this year the Rhode Island kid found himself face-to-face with Steven Tyler. During an interview with WPRI, Grace shared what he and the Aerosmith rocker talked about.
"I was eating dinner so he told me he'd just had a turkey sandwich a few minutes ago for dinner," Grace said. He speaks slowly, but clearly has a good sense of humor. Those words on paper aren't as entertaining as they were during the interview. You can watch the whole thing below.
Tyler and Grace actually talked via Skype, but they did sing an Aerosmith song. Apparently, they started to sing 'Walk This Way' together, Tyler being Tyler, well, in the kid's words, "he just took over."
Grace has had three brain surgeries since being diagnosed with Grade IV Glioblastoma. Last weekend the family hosted "Rock and Roll for Cole" to raise funds for medical bills. While the event has passed you can visit the Facebook page to learn more about him.
