The words "Steven Tyler" and "world peace" aren't considered to be synonymous -- just ask Joe Perry -- but that's about to change. The flamboyant Aerosmith frontman has signed on to perform at next month's concert honoring this years winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

On Dec. 11 at the Oslo Spektrum in Oslo, Norway, Tyler will join a global cavalcade of stars including Queen Latifah -- who will serve as the concert's host -- British soul singer Laura Mvula, Girls of the World, Norwegian pop star Gabrielle and Pakistan's Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. There will also be a Bollywood-style production number.

“I am excited to bring rock ‘n’ roll to this incredible night, honoring some of the world’s most courageous activists,” Tyler said in a statement.

Now in its 21st year, the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is broadcast globally to 100 countries to an estimated audience of 350 million people. Past performers include Paul McCartney, Sting and Bon Jovi. The 2014 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian children's rights advocate, and Malala Yousafzai, a 17-year old Pakistani activist for female education.
