Steven Tyler added a little extra star power to Nashville's Season Four premiere last night, putting in a guest appearance as himself and covering Patsy Cline's "Crazy" with series star Hayden Panettiere.

You can watch video of Tyler and Panettiere's duet above, and purchase the single version of the track via iTunes — but there's still no release date in sight for Tyler's upcoming country-influenced solo LP, which he recently suggested might surface in 2016.

Telling Entertainment Weekly that fans can expect something "more countrified than Aerosmith," Tyler promised, "I am going to do what feels right to me. I won’t be bringing out a banjo just to make a song sound a little more country. There are more parallels than ever right now between country and rock 'n’ roll."

Pressed for a release date, he would only say, "This new album is the love of my life at the moment, and I am taking my time making sure it is everything I have envisioned," and responded to a question about the possibility of special guests by telling EW, "I always have a few tricks up my sleeve so you never know who will pop up on the album with me."

Tyler did allow that he's been listening to a lot of Eric Church and the Cadillac Three lately (the latter of whom he recently joined onstage), so it wouldn't be surprising to hear cameos from either act — or Panettiere, whom he referred to as "a peach" while applauding her ability to sing live. Of course, Tyler being Tyler, there are a couple of other reasons he might want her to stop by the studio:
