Sammy Hagar and Cheap Trick will play the opening evening of the Carolina Rebellion Festival, held May 2 and 3 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, with Slash following on the second day.

Scott Weiland is also set to perform on May 2. Queensryche and Tremonti (whose lineup includes Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang) are on the May 3 bill.

The Carolina Rebellion Festival is part of a series of metal festivals held across the U.S. under the banner of "World's Loudest Month," a partnership of AEG Live and Danny Wimmer Presents. Motorhead were scheduled to appear at the fest last year, before Lemmy Kilmister was slowed by illness. (Slash also played the festival in 2012.)

Also scheduled for this year's festival are Slayer, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot and Godsmack, among others. Single-day tickets start at $59.50; weekend passes start at $99. You can find more info on the festival's website.
