Who would have thought that a guy named Saul would rock so hard? But that's the case for the musician who many have come to know as Slash. The guitar great, who turns 47 on July 23, first came to fame as a member of the recently inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act, Guns N' Roses.

After moving on to middling returns for his group Slash's Snakepit, he would return to the spotlight with Velvet Revolver. In recent years, Slash has transitioned into a solo career, forming a band with Myles Kennedy backing him up on vocals.
