On this day in rock history, the original lineup of Black Sabbath released their last album together, Never Say Die! Within a year, Ozzy Osbourne would be fired and replaced by Ronnie James Dio.

Ten years later, Ozzy showed his old bandmates, once again, that he didn’t need them with the double-platinum No Rest for the Wicked. It featured the debut of Zakk Wylde, one of many great guitarists Osbourne has worked with throughout his career. KissPsycho Circus featured the band’s original lineup together again for the first time in about 20 years, although Peter Criss and Ace Frehley appeared on only three songs each, and all four members on;y played together on Frehley’s “Into the Void.” ZZ Top celebrated 30 years as a group with XXX, a combination of new studio material and four live cuts.
