The resemblance is downright uncanny. You can barely steal a glance at Sean Ono Lennon without your mind immediately thinking of his father, former Beatle singer/guitarist John Lennon. It’s a comparison that the former has grown to accept.

In an interview with the Chronicle Herald, a Canadian publication, Sean spoke about what’s it’s like to live under the shadow of his universally recognized father. “I’m so used to it,” he said. “I’m more taken aback when I’m asked something that isn’t about my dad — that’s when I get really surprised.”

The younger Lennon takes a somewhat Zen view of the subject altogether. “I mean, my whole life has been responding to questions about him,” he noted. “It doesn’t bother me at all. It’s beyond being bothered. You can’t be bothered by, you know, wind.”

Lennon has kept busy these last few years, if not necessarily following in his father’s footsteps, then at a minimum pursuing the same passion for music. Recently he produced his mother Yoko Ono’s album, ‘Take Me to the Land of Hell’ and is part of a duo with his girlfriend called Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger.

John Lennon was murdered by Mark David Chapman on Dec. 8, 1980 outside of his home at the Dakota next to Central Park in New York City when his son Sean was only five. At the time, Lennon along with Ono had just released their album ‘Double Fantasy’ which featured the song ‘Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)’ that was inspired by their young son.
