Saxon has released an official clip for the title track of their forthcoming 21st album. Battering Ram, due on Oct. 16 via UDR Music, arrives in conjunction with a U.S. tour that kicks off later this month.

Filmed at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK, the above video features a no-nonsense performance highlighting the continuing power of these pioneers of New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Battering Ram will be available in a variety of formats, including compact disc, 180-gram vinyl and limited-edition box set with an 18-track bonus disc featuring Saxon performing in Sweden in 2011.

“This one’s a natural progression from (Saxon's 2013 release) Sacrifice,” vocalist Biff Byford says of the Andy Sneap-produced Battering Ram, in pre-release material. “There’s a bit less rock ’n’ roll and a bit more ‘heavy’ on it. We wanted to keep focused on a style rather than moving around too much.”

Saxon is rounded out by Paul Quinn, Doug Scarratt, Nibbs Carter and Nigel Glockler. A complete list of dates and cities for Saxon's U.S. tour, which includes a few dates with Motorhead, can be found below.
