Santana recently announced dates for a North American tour. The jaunt kicks off Aug. 25 in Auburn, Wash., and is currently scheduled through an Oct. 1 gig in Los Angeles.

The trek, dubbed the "Sound of Collective Consciousness Tour," will see Carlos Santana and his band traveling throughout the West Coast and Southwest regions of the United States, with a few Canadian dates in the mix.

Michael Franti & Spearhead will provide support at most of the shows. The other gigs, which are billed as "Divine Rascals" dates, will feature Santana co-headlining with comedian George Lopez. Tickets for most shows are currently on sale.

The North American trek will be preceded by a European jaunt that kicks off June 13 in Helsinki, Finland, and runs through a July 24 gig in Floriana, Malta.

Carlos Santana recently made headlines for slamming Georgia's new immigration laws while accepting the Beacon of Change honor at Major League Baseball's Civil Rights Game.
