Every year veteran rocker Sammy Hagar holds an extravagant birthday party celebration at Cabo Wabo Cantina, the Cabo San Lucas restaurant and nightclub he founded in 1990.

Hagar celebrates his 70th birthday this year, and the festivities -- which kicked off Oct. 9 and runs until Oct. 14 -- will soon make their way to the big screen.

Red Til I’m Dead: Sammy Hagar’s Rock-N-Roll Birthday Party, a concert film capturing the highlights from this year's four-day rock 'n' roll birthday marathon, will hit theaters on Dec. 5, for one night only. In addition to all the music, fans will also see behind-the-scenes footage documenting Hagar's 50-year career.

Tickets for the movie go on sale Oct. 27 and can be purchased online at or at box offices at participating theaters.

In keeping with tradition, Hagar's 70th birthday spectacle will feature performances by a range of artists. Performers this year include Toby Keith, Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Darryl McDaniels (Run-DMC), Eddie Money, Vinnie Paul (Pantera), Bob Weir (the Grateful Dead) and Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains). The event will also feature longtime collaborators such as guitarist Vic Johnson, of Hagar backing band the Waboritas, and Michael Anthony, Hagar's Circle and Van Halen bandmate. Circle drummer Jason Bonham will also perform.

Previous Hagar birthday bashes have also made their way to general audiences. In 2013, there was a TV special, Sammy Hagar and Friends Annual Cabo Wabo Birthday Bash, and Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas Cabo Wabo Birthday Bash was released to video in 2001. More recently, Hagar devoted a 2016 episode of his TV series Rock 'n' Roll Road Trip to the Cabo Wabo Bash.

Red Til I'm Dead marks the first time the annual Birthday Bash, which is going on 30 years, will be screened for fans.
