Fresh off this past Thursday’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rush won the Rock Album of the Year Juno award  for ‘Clockwork Angels’ last night in Regina, Saskatchewan. The group beat out alt.rockers Billy Talent, retro-rock band the Sheepdogs, the Tragically Hip and Big Wreck to walk away with the eighth Juno award of their career.

Along with Metric, Big Wreck and more, Rush are also nominated for the Group of the Year award, which will be presented during a televised ceremony Sunday night (April 21).

There has been a flurry of activity in the Rush camp over the course of the last week. In addition to the announcement that they would be immortalized on a stamp in their home land, some argue that Rush stole the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony on Thursday night. Of course, we can’t reference the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony without mentioning the Foo Fighters’ tribute to the group.

Rush kick off their ‘Clockwork Angels’ tour in Austin, Texas this coming Tuesday night (April 23). The group are slated to be traveling North American highways for the bulk of the summer. Their tour is currently scheduled to wrap up on Aug. 4 in Kansas City, Mo.
