Last night during the 28th annual induction ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Canadian progressive rock trio Rush finally joined the celebrated cast. As expected, their fans were there in full force to support them last night (April 18) with earth-shaking applause and standing ovations at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

Perhaps two of the biggest Rush fans came in the form of Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters who introduced Rush at the historic event. Grohl kicked things off praising his heroes. “They did it from the ground up without any help from the mainstream press,” he said. “Their influence is undeniable and their devoted fan base is only rivaled by the Grateful Dead.”

Check out some photos of the special evening below, including an appearance by Grohl decked out as his best impression of Lifeson on the back cover of the ‘2112’ album.
