Rush fans who tuned into the episode of Jeopardy! that aired tonight (July 16) got a bit of an unexpected surprise. A contestant brought a pair of Neil Peart‘s drumsticks as a good-luck charm. You can watch the video above.

Jeopardy!’s weekly video about their contestants says that her name is Jennifer Morrow, and that she is a volunteer for Operation Backpack in New York City. During the segment where Alex Trebek, who, like Rush, originally hails from the Ontario province of Canada, gets to know a little bit about each contestant, Morrow revealed her fandom.

“I was always inspired by tales of knights in shining armor who would ride into battle with a token of favor from somebody they admired,” she said. “So I thought I would do that here. I’m a huge fan of the Canadian prog-rock trio Rush. And so I went to one of their concerts a while back and from the front row I held up a banner that said, ‘May be on Jeopardy! Request token of favor to carry in thy honor’ […] And apparently Neil Peart, the greatest drummer in the world, is a fan of the greatest show in the world.”

At which point, Morrow reached into her pocket and pulled out a pair of Peart’s drumsticks. According to fan site Rush Is a Band, it was when she hit the Daily Double that she further established her credentials. Morrow wagered $2112 of the money she had earned up to that point and got the question right. Apparently, the sticks did the job. She won the episode and will return on Friday night.
