Hard to believe, but 2014 marks the 40th anniversary of the self-titled debut album from Rush. To celebrate this milestone, 'Rush' is being re-issued on April 15 in a special vinyl deluxe edition box.

The record will be on 220-gram vinyl, which has been re-mastered using the Direct Metal Mastering process under the supervision of noted engineer Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios. Magee recently oversaw the remastering of the Beatles catalog on vinyl which received rave reviews. It will be housed in a sturdy, custom box with a lift-off top.

Released in March 1974 in their native Canada on the Moon Records label, their debut offering soon caught fire on Cleveland radio station WMMS, ultimately leading to the band signing with Mercury Records, who issued the LP (with a different mix) in July of that year.

According to the official Rush website, the disc was remastered from the original 1974 analog stereo masters and features the original jacket art, complete with the original MN-100-A/B Matrix etching. It will also include a 16″ x 22″ reproduction of the first Rush promo poster (only 500 were ever originally printed), three 5″ x 7″ lithographs of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and John Rutsey, a 12″ x 12″ Rush Family Tree poster, and a digital download card for a free digital copy of this newly remastered release.
