They both had a pretty easy time of it in the opening round, but now the Rolling Stones and Cream face each other in the semifinals of the 100 percent fan-voted Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame.

The Stones handily defeated the Yardbirds in their head-to-head battle, walking away with more than 58 percent of the vote and proving, once again, that their brand of rock 'n' roll remains a dependable source of enjoyment for listeners of all ages -- like the ones in attendance at the band's ongoing 50th anniversary tour, which recently made a delayed run through Australia and New Zealand. With more dates on the calendar for 2015 and a new solo album from Keith Richards slowly wending its way toward release, the Stones show no signs of slowing down.

Cream, meanwhile, put a right royal walloping on Buffalo Springfield in the opening round, amassing nearly 74 percent of fans' votes. It's been a tough year for the Cream community, starting with bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce's sad passing in October and continuing with drummer Ginger Baker's public lament regarding ongoing health and financial woes. Guitarist Eric Clapton, meanwhile, added to his catalog in 2014 with 'The Breeze,' an all-star tribute to his friend and collaborator, J.J. Cale.

Now it's up to you to decide who moves on to the final round -- and you can vote once an hour between now and Monday, Dec. 22 at 11:59PM ET. This month’s winner will be announced on Dec. 30. Be sure to read our official rules.
