The Rolling Stones' ‘big red mouth’ symbol is one of the most widely recognized logos in the world.

Otherwise known as ‘The Tongue and Lip Design,' the logo was created in 1970 by renowned British graphic designer John Pasche. The red mouth was originally created as an ovation to Kali, the Hindu goddess of everlasting energy and represented the strength of free expression in rock ‘n’ roll music. Of course, it was also created to purposefully resemble Stones’ vocalist Mick Jaggar’s mouth.
