Strike up the band! It's Robbie Robertson's 69th birthday on July 5. The vocalist, who started his career as a member of Ronnie Hawkins' band the Hawks and would later become part of Bob Dylan's backing band, eventually got his time in the spotlight as the guitarist and one of the vocalists for the Band.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had a hand in writing such classics as 'The Weight,' 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,' and 'Up On Cripple Creek.' He also has enjoyed a successful solo career that featured such critically acclaimed works as his self-titled debut and 'Storyville.' His latest solo work, 'How to Become Clairvoyant,' arrived in 2011.
