The latest installment of "Mash Up Mondays" on Jimmy Kimmel Live brings together two incredibly popular groups from different eras. May 4 will see the one-time only performance of "Imagine REO Speedragons," where REO Speedwagon will perform a "secret hit track" with Imagine Dragons.

Jimmy Kimmel began "Mash Up Mondays" in February. In the segment, he juxtaposes acts with somewhat similar names to perform together. Previous guests have been Weezer with ZZ Top (billed as "Wee-Z Top") and smooth jazz star Kenny G and rapper Warren G.

"I talked to Wayne from Imagine Dragons yesterday," enthused REO Speedwagon frontman Kevin Cronin in a press release, "and both our bands are totally psyched about doing the ‘Mash Up Monday.’ We all love Jimmy and we're gonna play one of our favorites like it’s never been played before. Imagine REO Speedragons is gonna f---in' rock!"

Cronin's counterpart in Imagine Dragons, Dan Reynolds, was equally thrilled, adding, "Imagine REO Speedragons was destined to happen since the day Zeus thrust his mighty bolt to the Earth."

Since breaking out their double-platinum full-length debut, Night Visions, in 2012, Imagine Dragons have risen to stardom on the strength of singles "It's Time," "Radioactive" and "Demons." Their most recent album, Smoke + Mirrors, debuted at No. 1 in February.

The episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live featuring Imagine REO Speedragons will air Monday at 11:35PM Eastern on ABC.
