In the wake of R.E.M.’s recent breakup announcement, a new greatest hits collection has been announced and slated for a Nov. 15 release. ‘Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982 – 2011’ will compile hits from the bands extensive career, along with brand new material.

The new songs were recorded after the band completed their 15th and final album ‘Collapse Into Now,' which was released in March of this year. Though a final track listing has yet to be revealed it’s pretty obvious (by the title alone) that this compilation is a quick means to cash in before hanging it up for good. The band's last collection, 'In Time' spanned the years 1988-2003.

One might consider this latest collection, the velvet ribbon that will tightly wrap up their entire musical catalog. Better still, it’ll arrive just in time to find its way into many silver lined stockings this holiday season.
