In one of the oddest matchups in the history of these elections, Queen and the Marshall Tucker Band will compete in round one of the UCR Hall of Fame voting.

Each month, our readers will decide which of eight legendary artists or bands will be honored for their contributions to the genre with a permanent spot in our Hall of Fame. For over four decades, the Marshall Tucker Band has been one of the leading lights of Southern rock, using their unique blend of rock, rhythm & blues, jazz, country, and gospel to create classic songs like 'Take the Highway,' 'Can't You See' and 'Heard it in a Love Song.'

Queen began life as a hard-hitting, progressive-rock influenced band, but eventually evolved into something much more unique, diverse and influential. Their elaborate, pioneering multi-section masterpiece 'Bohemian Rhapsody' has become one of the most famous rock songs of all time, and it's nearly impossible to attend a sporting event anywhere in the world without hearing 'We Will Rock You.'

So who gets your vote? You can make your selection once a day from now until Feb. 16 in this first round battle. The next inductee to the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame will be announced on March 3.
