Eagle Rock Entertainment will re-release 'The Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story' on May 20. It will be available as a two-disc DVD as well as digital video download.

The documentary, originally titled 'Syd Barrett: Crazy Diamond,' was first shown as part of the BBC's 'Omnibus' series in 2001, and released on DVD in 2003. This edition features 'Roger Waters On Syd Barrett,' as well as a second disc featuring interviews with Pink Floyd band members Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright. This new, upgraded edition runs 214 minutes total and features additional bonus material and new artwork.

The tale of the legendary leader of the Pink Floyd is rolled out in all its frail glory. From the amazing bursts of genius, to the tragic LSD-fueled withering of the once so-vital presence. The documentary contains vintage footage of early classics like 'Arnold Layne' and 'Astronomy Domine,' and other brilliant material from the band's early days like 'See Emily Play' and 'Jugband Blues.'

Among others featured in the interviews about Barrett are longtime Syd fan, musician Robyn Hitchcock, photographer and close friend Mick Rock, producer Joe Boyd, and Humble Pie drummer Jerry Shirley, who played on the second Syd solo album, 'Barrett.'

Though the Syd Barrett era is only a small part on the timeline of the Pink Floyd story, it remains one of the most significant chapters in their history. Syd died in 2006 at age 60, but his influence continues, and the music he created continues to win over new fans.
