Legendary Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and Gov't Mule will highlight the lineup of the ninth annual Mountain Jam Festival, which takes place over four days starting June 6 in Hunter Mountain, N.Y. Primus, Widespread Panic and the Avett Brothers are among many other bands announced for the show, with more additions expected to follow soon. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 AM ET via MountainJam.com.

Gov't Mule (and Allman Brothers Band) guitarist Warren Haynes, who helped pick the acts for this year's bill and has been involved with the festival since its inception in 2004, says that over the years the lineup has "changed in an organic way... the main concern is that we cater to people that really take music seriously and really love music and don’t mind going the extra mile to find something that they like."

For the first time this year, car camping will be allowed for those who don't want to lug their gear up a big mountain. VIP packages featuring up-close main stage viewing, fully catered meals, artist meet & greets and even free massages (!) and skyrides (no, that's not code) will also be available.

Check out our new interview with Haynes (below) to learn what he has planned for this year's Mountain Jam, as well as what the future holds for Gov't Mule, the Allman Brothers and his solo career.
