Phil Collins became a major star in the '80s not only because of his music, but because of the humor he instilled in his music videos. So it wasn't long before Hollywood came calling. He starred in and penned the soundtrack for the 1988 film 'Buster' but it didn't take long to realize he wasn't typical leading man material.

He continued his acting career over the next decade or so, focusing on supporting roles and cameos. In 1991, he took a smaller role as an English police inspector investigating a disappearance in Steven Spielberg's 'Hook.' The director must have had a place in his heart for musicians, as the film also includes appearances by David Crosby and Jimmy Buffett as members of Hook's (Dustin Hoffman) crew.
