In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, soldier Victor Vance returns home with a need to help his poor family get by, which leads him into a world of shady dealings, taking on odd jobs along the way. One of these jobs is to help music manager Barry Micelthwaite to get Phil Collins to his concert unharmed as Micelthwaite's mob debts put everyone in danger.

Collins, who made a memorable cameo on 'Miami Vice' in the '80s, was a natural fit for the game and agreed to the video game appearance as a virtual character, performing a concert where his 'Miami Vice' soundtrack favorite, 'In the Air Tonight,' is performed for the audience.
