Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen is ready to tell his story.

On Oct. 27, Collen will become the first member of the band to release a memoir with the publication of Adrenalized: Life, Def Leppard and Beyond. The book, co-written with Ultimate Classic Rock contributor Chris Epting, promises what publisher Atria Books describes as "a fascinating account of the failures, triumphs, challenges, and rock-hard dedication it takes to make dreams come true."

"It's fascinating for even me to look back at my life from working in a factory at 16 years old to eventually traveling the world selling over one hundred million records and all the experiences that come with that journey," Collen says in a press release announcing the book. "I realize that there is a constant evolution of 'me' that is still a work in progress even as I continue to be vital and dynamic in my same occupation for the past 35 years well into my late 50s."

The book arrives at a particularly busy moment for Collen, who's not only heading out on the road for Def Leppard's latest summer tour and preparing for the release of their new album, but also embarking on a new journey with his side project, Delta Deep. Yet even amidst all that activity, Collen confesses to a certain amount of trepidation regarding how his life would translate to the page.

"The last thing I ever thought I would be doing is writing a book," he tells Ultimate Classic Rock. "I guess observing my life may seem a bit more fascinating to others than what I actually envision. Still, when I look back at my life some of the most amazing moments were nowhere near a stage yet everything seemed to lead there. Here's the story .... from the beginning."
