Paul McCartney Rallies for Non-Turkey Meals This Holiday Season
As we head toward the holidays, legendary rocker and animal rights activist Paul McCartney is urging fans to find other options than turkey for their family gatherings.
McCartney has taken part in PETA's advertising campaign, wearing an 'Eat No Turkey' t-shirt beneath the slogan, "Celebrate life this holiday season, go vegetarian."
The singer has also narrated an anti-meat industry video titled 'Glass Houses' and suggests in the campaign, "If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian." The video goes on to address the slaughter of pigs, cows, fish, chicken, turkey and other animals.
NME reports the vocalist addresses his own holiday rituals, adding, "We eat a veggie roast at home, so if we have traditional moments like Christmas … the roast is perfect. It's completely vegetarian, but I can slice it, so I can do all my traditional dad things. We can do our family stuff with it, and it's delicious, so I much prefer that to my memory of turkey."
