Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell are officially husband and wife! The twosome tied the knot earlier today (Sunday, Oct. 9) in a 45-minute civil marriage ceremony which took place at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London. You can check out photos from the big event right here.

When the newly married couple exited the building, they were showered with confetti from hundreds of fans who were gathered on the steps to catch their first glimpse of the happy pair. The former Beatles member raised his bride's arm high in the air and blew kisses to fans and paparazzi's as they made their way through the crowd to the burgundy Lexus that swept the couple off to their reception.

Shevell wore a gown designed by McCartney's daughter, Stella. The elegant above-the-knee dress was accompanied by matching white flowers, which the bride wore in her long, dark hair. The groom wore a blue suit with a pale blue skinny tie, also designed by his daughter. McCartney's younger brother, Mike, served as his best man, while his 7-year-old daughter Beatrice was the couple's flower girl.

The newlyweds continued their day by attending a private reception at their nearby home in the St. John's Wood neighborhood, where champagne and cake awaited their arrival. McCartney's former bandmate, Ringo Starr, along with his actress wife, Barbara Bach, as well as Barbara Walters were among those in attendance.

McCartney, 69, and Shevelle, 51, met in the Hamptons in Long Island, N.Y. shortly after the singer's marriage to Heather Mills came to an end in 2008. McCartney's marriage to Shevell marks his third trip down the aisle, while being the second marriage for his new bride. The two were engaged earlier this year.

Congrats to the McCartneys from all of us here at Ultimate Classic Rock!
