With the London Olympics winding down after his tremendous (if underpaid) performance, former Beatles legend Paul McCartney is bringing his Feb. 9 performance of his 2012 album ‘Kisses On The Bottom’ at Capitol Studios to PBS. The special will air Sept. 7 on PBS’ ‘Great Performances.’

‘Live Kisses’ was recorded just a few hours after the well-deserving musician / singer / songwriter accepted his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was so aptly placed in front of the famed Capitol Records building on Vine St. in Los Angeles, CA.

For fans who have grown used to watching McCartney play his heart out on the keyboard or bass, this coming special will show the ‘Hey Jude’ scribe relying solely on vocals, with an array of professionals backing him up. The line-up includes jazz star Diana Krall on piano, along with John Clayton, Karriem Riggins, John Pizzarelli, Anthony Wilson, Mike Mainieri and conductor Alan Broadbent.

As a bonus, the special will also feature exclusive interview segments with McCartney and artists who collaborated on ‘Kisses On The Bottom,’ including Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Krall and producer Tommy LiPuma.
