Brian Wilson is to be the subject of a new biopic that is in the works. Named after a Wilson song, 'Love And Mercy' will attempt to cover Wilson's entire life, from the earliest days of the Beach Boys through his artistic and personal struggles and recoveries. There will be two actors playing the music legend. Although the elder Wilson role has not been filled, Paul Dano will play a young Wilson.

The movie, first announced last year by producer/director Bill Pohlad, comes as the dust has finally settled on last year's highly successful Beach Boys 50th Anniversary Tour. The film script has been written by Oren Moverman, the man behind the unconventional Bob Dylan biopic 'I'm Not There. ' No word on whether the Wilson film will take a similarly offbeat path or not.

"I am thrilled that Paul Dano has signed on to play me during one of my most creative explosions and most fulfilling musical times in my career," Wilson told Rolling Stone. "I still can't believe how cool it is that my life will be portrayed on the big screen, and to have Bill Pohlad as the captain of the Sloop John B is amazing! It just makes me feel so humble. I can't wait to see it with a full tub of buttered popcorn."
