"I was Catholic before I started listening to Ozzy. Through listening to him I became a Satanist, but then I converted back to Catholicism just so I could thank God for creating him."

That's the good word from Zakk Wylde, who kicks off a new collection of band interviews taped as part of Ozzy Osbourne's upcoming 'Memoirs of a Madman' retrospective with just the right blend of respect and irreverent humor. The rest of the video (which you can watch embedded above) leans far more toward the bluntly worshipful end of the spectrum, with Ozzy's bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos, guitarist Gus G., and keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Adam Wakeman all giving viewers their point of view on how and why Ozzy rules.

Of course, their opinions are shared by many, which is why Osbourne's solo career is getting this extensive audio and video retrospective treatment with 'Memoirs.' Due Oct. 10, it collects 17 of his biggest solo hits and fan favorites, and is scheduled to be released alongside two DVDs offering videos, live performances, and behind-the-scenes footage. Check out the complete track listing here, and pre-order your copy of the DVD, CD, or 2-LP vinyl 'Memoirs of a Madman' today.
