If he wasn't already, Nikki Sixx is now definitely an award-winning author, earning himself the 2011 Book of the Year honors in our first annual Ultimate Classic Rock Awards.

Sixx took 43% of the vote in our poll for his revealing photobook-journal, the lengthily titled 'This is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography and Life Through the Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx.' That total easily beat out such esteemed competition as Sammy Hagar, who came in second with his excellent autobiography, 'Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock,' which took 24% of the vote.

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler came in third with 11% for 'Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?,' followed by Ozzy Osbourne's medical and romantic advice book 'Trust Me, I'm Doctor Ozzy' and the official life stories of two guitar legends, Ace Frehley's 'No Regrets' and Tony Iommi's 'Iron Man.'

Sixx mentioned back in November on his official Facebook page how happy he'd be to win this particular award -- "This would mean a lot to me being a writer" -- and clearly the fans of his Motley Crue and solo work turned up in force to make it happen.

All told, over 230,000 votes were registered in the 2011 Ultimate Classic Rock Awards. You can see the final results for the 2011 Book of the Year voting below, and keep clicking to find out who won the other nine categories.
