There's a diverse range of October 2011 new music releases headed your way, including the long-awaited new studio album from Jane's Addiction, 'The Great Escape Artist,' which will end their eight-year absence from record stores.

The month also finds some big classic rock artists branching out in admirable new ways, with Chicago and Scott Weiland delivering Christmas albums, and Paul McCartney composing an orchestral score for ballet.

You'll also encounter another wave of reissues from Paul Simon, and the vinyl edition of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album 'I'm With You.'

Styx will also hit stores with a collection of re-recorded versions of their favorite hits, Cream moves into the Blu-ray age with their 'Live at Royal Albert Hall' reunion concert, and Peter Gabriel brings his classic songs to new life with the help of an orchestra on the 'New Blood' DVD and CD.
