When this year's Mountain Jam festival begins on June 4, attendees and onlookers will be able to track all the action with a brand new app for mobile devices.

Offering a variety of improvements over previous versions, the new Mountain Jam app includes an up-to-the-minute lineup and schedule as well as festival news, trip-planning tools, and photos, with more features and updates still to come.

For those who want to delve a little deeper into Mountain Jam, the app also offers artist pages for each of the festival's performers, including bios, photos, and video footage; in addition, users have the option of receiving updates for particular artists or Mountain Jam in general — including show alerts prior to performers taking the festival stage.

Mountain Jam attendees can also use the app to purchase tickets, and once that's out of the way, the My Schedule component allows users to sort out who they're going to see perform and when. iPhone users can download the new app now, as can Android users.

As previously reported, Robert Plant is this year's Mountain Jam headliner, and he tops a bill that also includes the Black Keys and moe. Those who can't attend in person have the option of streaming the festival online via Tourpedo.
