Rock's resident British rabble rousers Motorhead have cobbled together a massive deluxe box set for release in 2012. No, seriously. It's gargantuan, as it will include a whopping 16 discs in the collection. It's a whole lotta early period Motorhead, that's for sure.

The Second Disc reports that next month, Sanctuary will issue 'The Complete Early Years,' capturing all of Lemmy and co.'s releases from 1977 to 1984, including live releases and EPs. It also comes with a collector's guide to Motorhead book, a limited-edition Justin Hampton print, concert programs and a collection of badges -- all housed in a replica of Motorhead's iconic pig skull.

It's certainly going to be comprehensive and era-focused collection, but it's not a completist piece, obviously, since it hones in on a specific time period in the band's career. If you are a die hard and must own any and every scrap of Motorhead material, then by all means, have at it. But this set is not brimming with any sort of new recorded content.

Available in the U.S. as an import on Feb. 21, the set will be available in both CD and vinyl configurations. If you have $600 to spare, you can own it and adorn your CD shelf with it.
