More Details Emerge on Motley Crue’s ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ Reissue
Pre-orders will include limited-edition merchandise and memorabilia on a variety of pricing levels, beginning with $15 bundles that feature the album on CD, a digital download, five bonus tracks and a sticker. A $65 bundle includes a deluxe edition on CD/DVD, a collectible cassette edition and a limited-edition T-shirt. An all-inclusive $215 version features a commemorative drum head with the original Girls, Girls, Girls album artwork, and a limited-edition lithograph poster, as well as the CD/DVD, cassette and T-shirt. There's still no word on a release date, the track listing or even a design yet for the expanded-edition T-shirts. In an earlier Facebook post previewing the reissues, Motley Crue said they'll "be celebrating all year long!" with "more surprises coming up this year." (Presumably that won't mean any live dates, since Motley Crue played what they said was their final concert on Dec. 31, 2015.) The band's official website also features a mailing-list signup that promises more info on how fans "can be a part of celebrating 30 years of Girls, Girls, Girls."
Girls, Girls, Girls, their fourth album, went to No. 2 in 1987 on the strength of its title track, which hit No. 12. That set the stage for 1989's Dr. Feelgood, Motley Crue's only chart-topping LP.
