Here's your latest reminder that Michael Anthony is awesome, courtesy of Rob Zombie guitarist John 5.

John brought his band, the Creatures, to Los Angeles' Whisky A Go Go on Feb. 11, but they weren't alone — as you can see from the above video, the group was joined by the former Van Halen bassist for a performance of his old band's classic "Somebody Get Me a Doctor."

The rendition, which also featured Zombie bassist Piggy D., comes during a brief lull in the always-busy Anthony's schedule. He's currently slated to join Sammy Hagar for a short run of tour dates with his band the Circle (which also includes guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer Jason Bonham) this spring, running from late April through early May and continuing with a June 19 show at the Steamboat Days festival in Burlington, Iowa.

Beyond live dates, it's hard to say what's on the horizon for Anthony, aside from maintaining his hot-sauce empire and appearing at the occasional event. He's still a member of Chickenfoot -- his band with Hagar, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith -- but Hagar said it could be quite awhile (if ever) before we get another album out of that group, and last year, he told Ultimate Classic Rock it would be "kind of a waste of time" to attempt a studio LP with the Circle.

In the meantime, it's great to see that the man with the Jack Daniel's bass is still up for the occasional club gig, and not above tackling a tune from his back pages. Here's hoping this is just the first of many times we hear him surface in 2015.
