The day before Metallica begin their WorldWired Tour, the band will give fans a peek into their final preparations. On May 9, the band will stream a rehearsal from Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium.

"We are psyched to share some of our rehearsals and final pre-production run-through with our friends around the world, and we hope you'll come hang with us as we fire up the engines for the North American summer run," drummer Lars Ulrich said in a press release.

They're calling the event "Now That We're Live," a play on their current single from Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct, and it can be seen on Facebook Live beginning at 9PM ET. The performance will be archived on their Facebook page and website for on-demand and repeat viewings.

A select number of fans will be able to view the rehearsal in person by entering a contest. The deadline for entry is May 5 at noon, and you can get full details at the band's website.

Facebook Live has arranged it so that, during the stream, fans can donate to Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation, which supports various charities that are important to the individual band members, including music education and food banks. Metallica launched the program in February, and you can learn more about it at the Crowdrise site.

Following the tour's opener in Baltimore on May 10, the North American leg of the WorldWired tour will run through Aug. 16, when the shows will wrap up at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In September, the band will begin the European leg in Amsterdam, with dates spread out across the continent through May 2018.
