During the past two baseball seasons, the San Francisco Giants have invited hometown heroes Metallica out to perform for the crowd at a specially designated Metallica Night, and that tradition will continue in 2015.

"A huge congratulations to our hometown San Francisco Giants, winners of the 2014 World Series," writes the band at its official site. "Just as the festivities and celebrations are starting to wind down, it's time to plan for next season, and lucky for us, the team has invited us back for the third annual Metallica Night at AT&T Park. We'll all be on hand Saturday, May 2, 2015, as the Giants take the field against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and as always, the night will kick off with the National Anthem and first pitch. Of course we'll be hanging all evening with those crazy, loud, loyal orange and black fans cheering for the team and participating in some in-between-inning action."

That's still months away, but tickets are set to go on sale shortly. "Special event tickets for this game go on sale as part of Orange and Black Friday, Nov. 28, at 8AM PST," continues the post. "The special event Metallica ticket package includes a ticket to the game and a limited edition Metallica/Giants goodie that we'll tell you about at a later date. A portion of the proceeds from every Metallica Night special event ticket will benefit a local charity that we will tell you about later."

If you're a member of the band's Met Club, you'll have access to tickets even earlier -- details for that special pre-sale will be revealed to those logging into their Club memberships on Nov. 26. For more information about next year's Metallica Night, visit the San Francisco Giants website.
