Megadeth have unveiled "Fatal Illusion," the first track from their upcoming and as-yet-untitled 15th studio album. You can hear the full song above.

This is about a day earlier than we expected to hear anything new from the Dave Mustaine-fronted group, who posted a countdown clock on their website earlier this week, set to go off tomorrow (Oct. 2) at 1PM ET. It is speculated that Megadeth will reveal the title and release date of their new album at that time, and it has been rumored that the follow-up to 2013's Super Collider will be named Dystopia.

The album's track list, which includes 13 originals alongside covers of "Melt the Ice Away" by Budgie and Fear's "Foreign Policy," has already been revealed. The record will also feature a revamped lineup highlighted by Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler.

Judging from the blisteringly paced, guitar solo-packed "Fatal Illusion," age and experience don't seem to have mellowed Mustaine yet, thank goodness. As he told Revolver magazine about the band's new music: "There's a lot of riffing going on in there, that's for damn sure. There's a lot of solos, a lot of pounding drums and bass. I knew from the start that I wanted to go back to my roots, and I wanted to make a thrash record."

Megadeth are set to hit the road on a world tour in support of the new record on Oct. 6 in Bejing. They will also visit Japan, India, Australia, Russia, Ireland, Scotland, England and Mexico before the year is out. They have yet to announce their next series of U.S. dates.
