Drummer Martin Chambers, one of two surviving original members of the Pretenders, turns 61 years old on Sept. 4. Chambers joined up with Chrissie Hynde and company in 1978. After a string of hit albums and tours, Chambers left the group in the mid '80s, temporarily (and quite understandably) unable to cope with the tragic deaths of bandmates James Honeyman-Scott and Pete Farndon.

However, he would rejoin Hynde in 1994 and remains in charge of the group's tempos to this day.
